The LED insert in the 3.0 license plate frame sends a weak signal back through the red wire (brake light), which means that if you have additional lights installed, such as a tour pack or filler lights, the brake light will remain constantly illuminated in that circuit. To prevent this, it is necessary to install a set of rectifiers on the red wire.
